Toronto 2011: 2012 Mazda3 gets SKYACTIV technology
by Auto123.com
Mazda announced at the Canadian International Auto Show that the Mazda3 will become available with the new SKYACTIV powertrain and receive a few cosmetic upgrades upon its release this fall.

The technology will provide the sedan with extra low- and mid-range torque, not to mention superior efficiency.

SKYACTIV encompasses all the technical innovations to be applied to Mazda vehicles in order to improve its corporate average fuel economy by 30 percent within the next four years.

The updated Mazda3 will also get fresh bumpers as well as redesigned headlights and grilles. New 16- and 17-inch wheels will round out the changes.

What's more, the company revealed that SKYACTIV engines and transmissions will successively find their way into many other products throughout 2011.

Visitors at the CIAS (February 18-27) in Toronto will get to see the rest of the Mazda lineup, including the Mazda2, Mazda5, Mazda6, MX-5, RX-8, Tribute, CX-7 and CX-9.
