The 2012 Mazda5 made its North American debut in Los Angeles, showing mostly esthetic and utility improvements to attract the model's target customers: families.

Outside, two main aspects catch the eye. First, the pronounced fenders and the smiley face-shaped fron
t bumper, clearly a Mazda trademark and second, the lines of the car that take us to the Shinari concept. The rear of the vehicle has also been reshaped, the taillights bearing a family resemblance to the Mazda2 and CX-9.

The interior does feature big modifications, but stays as spacious and convenient as the 2010 version. Comfort was also improved, the 5 now having thicker and wider seats, while the dash is now angled pretty much like in the Mazda3.

The 2.5-litre engine now equips the car, developing 157 horsepower and paired with a 6-speed manual of five-speed automatic transmission.
